Fordel, Inc. has many new things available for the upcoming season. We are now offering a “Euro” packed single layer corrugated carton for cantaloupes available on request. The melons in this carton will be labeled with a PLU number. Specs on this box are available upon request. A new packing line for cantaloupes and honeydews was installed this year for “special packs.” Electronic Data Exchange (EDI) is also available to the customers upon request for those who prefer less paperwork. Our acreage of cantaloupes, honeydews and watermelons has increased 30% for this season due to increased demand and the unusually early spring. We continue to use CHEP pallets on all products that we ship. Our watermelons are harvested in a white high graphic bin and can be sorted by the count if necessary.
